Introduction:

This app contains chemistry flashcards for the IB Diploma Programme.

Instructions:

  1. Card controls:
    • Click on a card to flip it and view the reverse side.
    • Click or tap an image to expand it. Click it again to return it to its normal size; pinch and drag to inspect an expanded image on a touchscreen.
    • Click Next and Previous to navigate through the cards.
    • Use the left/right arrow keys or Z/C to navigate, and the up/down arrow keys, space bar, or X to flip the current card.
    • On a touchscreen, swipe left to advance or swipe right to go back.
    • Rate each card:
      • Click on the 1. Strong, 2. Good, 3. OK and 4. Weak buttons to rate your confidence in each card; you will be shown your weaker cards more often.
      • You can also press the number keys 1–4 to apply the matching rating.
      • Make sure you update your ratings as your confidence changes.
      • Provided you use the same device each time, your ratings should be stored for next time.
  2. Settings:
    • Select the cards to test:
      • Organising concept – select Structure, Reactivity, or both, then choose Confirm. Selecting All toggles every available concept.
      • Topic – select one or more topics, then choose Confirm. Selecting All toggles every available topic.
      • Level – Higher includes every selected card; Standard excludes cards marked Higher.
    • Use Keyword search to find an exact word or phrase on either side of every flashcard. The Organising concept, Topic, and Level filters are temporarily disabled until the search box is cleared.
    • Toggle the Flashcard selection buttons to choose particular groups of card to be tested on. In Auto mode, you will be shown cards a lower proportion of the time the stronger they are. Within each rating group, cards that have gone longest without being tested are more likely to appear.
    • Toggle Show usage timer On/Off to show or hide this week's cumulative usage. It resumes across sessions, resets when the new week begins at Monday 00:00, and pauses after 30 s without a flashcard or simulation-panel button click or while the browser tab is hidden.
    • Use the Activity report buttons to download a Higher- or Standard-level PDF containing usage and topic progress.
